Welcome to the Kinsaki Rulebook!

Please make sure to read over all of these rules and stay fresh on them. The Kinsaki Staff enforces these rules very strictly, therefore it is your responsibility to read them, learn them, understand them, and follow them. We recommend that you to read the rules at least once ever three months to make sure you stay up-to-date.

The rules are listed based on severity of offense. These rules start with offenses that will get you banned and progressively move down to offenses that will give you friendly warnings.

The number of warnings each infraction is worth are just guidelines. Each case may be dealt with individually and will be adjusted accordingly. Choices made by staff members are final. Do not attempt to go to another staff member and have a decision overturned.

You have four (4) chances. If you have three (3) warnings toward your account, Kinsaki holds the right to remove the points from your account. If you have four (4) warnings toward your account, you will be banned.

In any case that you believe you were unfairly banned, or would like to know the reason for your banning, please contact us at: admin@kinsaki.com.

Infractions Worthy of Ban
Anyone caught breaking the following rules will be liable for an automatic ban.

» Abuse of Mule System
Every Kinsaki member is to have one main account and one mule account. If a user is caught having multiple accounts linked to the same IP, they are liable for banning.
Exception: We recognize that some families are active on forum sites. If you have a family member or friend who uses the same IP address as you do, please PM a staff member and inform them that there are multiple users located at the same location, and what the account names are. Do not wait until you are caught or all accounts are liable to be banned.

» Spamming:
The act of posting long strings of the same or random characters, phrases, or symbols that stretch the page and are of no sense; the act of posting information not related to the topic or forum posted under to advertise a specific store, item, or service to others will earn an instant banning.
Remember: If under any circumstances one is unsure if a post is spam, contact an administrator. S/he will determine whether the post is spam.

» Keep things PG-13!
This site is a PG-13 site. The use of explicit, detailed gore and "adult content", including, but not limited to, pictures, words, stories, and images or descriptions of stories or movies above the PG-13 or 'Adult' reader level, are prohibited and will result in an instant ban.

» Hacking/Scamming Users:
If you are found making unauthorized edits to any code or data on or a part of the Kinsaki site and/or server, you will be instantly banned and possibly prosecuted under legal charges as is applicable.
Under no circumstance is a user allowed to access another account that does not belong to them. Scamming is the act of unfairly profiting from another user outside the deal set prior to a trade being started. Hacking or scamming other users will not be accepted and will result in an instant ban.

» Off-site Trading
Items, points, credits, and accounts are all property of Kinsaki.com. Anything related to selling or trading these particular properties that belong to Kinsaki.com for real currency, items, "gold", or accounts of another online community will have your account automatically banned.

Major Infractions
Any one breaking the following rules will be given two (2) warning points to their account. If the warning points reach four (4) or higher, the account is legit for banning.

» Trolling
Trolling is the act of posting controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion. Trolling is not allowed in Kinsaki.

» Harassment
Harassment is any form of stalking a user or posting hate messages of any kind that are directed towards another member or group of members. Harassment of other users and/or staff members is not tolerated on Kinsaki at any time.

» Flaming
The act of flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users towards one individual or a group of individuals. Flaming and/or Flame Wars are not allowed in Kinsaki.

» Necro Posting
Necro Posting is reviving multiple threads that have not been posted in over a month. The only forum that is exempt from this rule is the Site Feedback forum for threads that have had things suggested only if the user is posting valuable information towards the topic of the thread. Additionally, in the Marketplace, Hangout, Land of the Gods, Quest, Charity, and Art Shop forums, users are able to revive their their own threads if they are still relevant and do not conflict with the stickied rules of the forums.

» Unquoted Lyrics/Plagiarism
Plagiarism is against the law. If you are posting works that are not yours, they must be quoted and credit must be given to the owner of the excerpt. To quote someone else's work, place it inside the BBCode [quote] [ /quote] tags (remove the space between "[" and "/")

» Copied and Pasted Posts
Posting the same message or symbols over and over again in multiple threads, comments or private messages is counted as a form of spamming for points. Anyone caught doing this will have all points deducted from their account that were earned by these copy and paste posts.

Minor Infractions
Anyone caught breaking the following rules will receive one (1) warning points towards their account. When the warnings points add up to four (4) the account is liable for banning. If these rules are broken regularly after the user was told to stop, they may add up to more than one (1) warning point in accordance to Staff decision.

» Double Posting
Double posting is simply the act of posting right after yourself. This also counts talking to yourself via a mule account. If you forget something in your post or a new reply was made while you were making your reply simply go back to your post and edit in the information you need to. If you accidentally double post edit that post stating so and contact a Staff Member right away to have it taken care of. Double posting back to back will result in multiple warnings equal to the number of posts that have been posted back to back.
Exception: There is an exception to the double posting rule. It only applies though to setting up a thread in forums such as: Hangouts, Marketplace, Art Shops, Charities, Quests, or Land of the Gods. This is limited however to the first page worth of posts (15 replies). You may also post after yourself ONLY if the thread has fallen off the first page of the forum. We suggest though that you request a friend to revive the thread for you to prevent any questions from coming up.
There is also an exception to the double posting rule when debating. We realize that, at times, when posting in the Extended Discussion forum posts can reach to be over 1,000 words. If a post happens to reach an extensive amount of words applicable to the topic posted under, double posting is permitted.

» Begging
Making threads, posts, trades, or PMs asking for users to donate to you for any reason is not permitted. Please refrain from doing so. Also PMing a user to sell an item that they are wearing that they don't have stated as 'for sale' in the MarketPlace is may also be counted as begging.

» Bumping
Bumping a thread is posting in any thread using the term "Bump", "Bring up my Post", or words/phrases of the sort. A thread that is on the first page can be seen still and therefore doesn't need to be at the top of the forum to be found.
Exception: You may bring back up your thread if your thread has fallen off the first page of the forum. We recommend you post something like "Bringing this back" or "Reviving my thread again" instead of one-worded posts such as "bump".

» Spam Topics
Quizzes, word games, chain letters/topics, one-worded topics are all considered meaningless topics and therefore the threads will be locked upon discovery. Kinsaki encourages constructive conversations so therefore encourages constructive topics to be posted in.
Exception: Quizzes and word games may be posted, but only in the Games forum.

» Spam Posts
As with the Spam Topics rule listed above, we encourage conversation. Posts that are considered spam include: chat speak posts (posts containing "L33T" talk), unnecessary "bumping", images but no words, one worded posts, and unrelated posts to the topic.

» Copy and Paste Forum Text
Forum text is a built in feature of this site. It allows up to 250 characters to automatically be edited in to your post at the time you press submit. Any coding posted in addition past that is considered spam as it is unneeded and clutters posts. Examples of such unneeded items are Dragon Cave/Others egg and long quotes.

» Disrespect
Be respectful, civil, and courteous towards all members of Kinsaki, including Staff members. We have a liberal policy regarding language, but overly abusive language is not permitted. If your post is excessively vulgar, insulting, explicit, hateful, or racist, it may be removed and disciplinary actions may be taken on your account.

» Abusing a glitch
Abusing a glitch is the act of using a glitch found in Kinsaki to profit one's self or someone else. All glitches must be reported immediately after discovering them.

Friendly Warnings
The following rules may not add up to your warning points, but may be turned into warning points if deliberately broken multiple times after being told to stop.

» Single-Word Posts
Single-word posts, or posts that are one word and then just smiley faces or characters are not allowed on Kinsaki. If you are found continually posting one-word posts after a friendly warning from a member of staff, you may start receiving official warnings.

» Forum Signature
The maximum signature image size is 450w x 350h, the maximum file size must not exceed 500kb, and texts must not exceed 30 words. In order to check image size, you may right click the image in your signature and go to properties. If the signature contains more than one image, the total size and file size must be in accordance with the rule.
The height and width of the signature box must not exceed the max of 700w by 600h.

» Advertising
Kinsaki is not a website for mass advertising to gain profit from either monetary or user activity gain. Links to other places in signatures, mottoes, profiles, and posts are acceptable as long as the site linked to does not gain a profit.
Note: In the event of minor advertisement (modest links in signatures, mottoes, and profiles leading to personal profit sites such as deviantArt, Etsy, personal eBay sites, and personal print sites), a user will not be penalized. If a user posts links to personal profit sites repeatedly in threads without being asked to, s/he will be warned and liable for banning if the behavior continues. If you are unsure if a link is appropriate for Kinsaki, contact a member of staff before advertising it.

» Excessive Quoting
Quote towers take up space both in the forums and on the servers. Please avoid quoting first posts, extensively worded posts, or quoting more than 3 times in a post.
Exception: We realize that posts can get rather lengthy, and in order to reply to a user, one must quote multiple times to refer to multiple points. If one must use multiple quotes in his or her post, please try to limit the amount in each quote to a small paragraph or 5 lines.

» Page Stretching
In order to keep a clean and neat look in the threads of Kinsaki, we encourage users not to post images over 600w x 500h so the pages do not stretch.

» Flash Images
Due to the possibility that there may be users with medical conditions, we ask that images used on the site not be too flashy. Images that have sudden color changes will be removed.

» English
People aren't perfect, but we encourage the usage of understandable grammar, or at least the effort of trying to do so when posting on the forums. The use of illiterate English in posts may sometimes be hard to understand for other members.
